Birth: 24 September 1888 Camden NSW, AustraliaDeath: 31 August 1918 (age 29) France, Died of Wounds Received in Action Cemetery or Memorial: Daours Communal Cemetery Extension, France Father: David DOUST (5 December 1853 - 10 January 1926) Mother: Harriet BLUNDELL (2 February 1852 - 22 April 1918) Frank gave his occupation as Farmer when he enlisted 22 March 1916 at Sydney, and his next of kin his mother Harriet Doust of 'Avendale' Long's Corner Road Canowindra. Frank served in the 56th Battalion A.I.F. He departed Sydney on the 'Aeneas' 30 September 1916 and arrived France via England December 1916. He was wounded at Bullecourt (shrapnel wound shoulder) 16 May 1917 and also at Polygon Wood (shell repurcussion) 23 September 1917. He also fought at Villers Bretonneux. Frank's cousin (Private 2883) Cecil Herbert Clark was killed in action in France in 1918. Private Frank Percival DOUST died at the 53rd Casualty Clearing Station from wounds to his face and head received in action 31 August 1918 at Mont St Quentin France age 29. |
